You know it’s going to be a good day when you look up into the mirror from brushing your teeth and your first thought is “Hey, I really like you”. And a couple of hours later, passing a shop window a similar thought, “Hey you look good, girl”.
Finally, in my mid 40s, I am starting to think about liking myself FIRST, not as a stern and trained second thought and I must say I am pretty chuffed with myself.
But I know better than to simply rest on those thoughts today.
I play golf and some days I play really well. In the early days I would have a ripper of a game and think I had the game all worked out. Until the next time when I couldn’t get the ball of the ground no matter what I tried.
Life, like golf and other crazy pursuits is not a static state of being. It is fluid and swings on a pendulum (thanks for that perfect image lovely Leanne Vincent) from each end of the spectrum to the other. So today I am chuffed with myself and I write this as a reminder to myself when I may hit that other end of the spectrum.
What do you do to remind yourself how wonderful you are?
