From Procrastination to Motivation & Success

I was an expert in the finer points of procrastination. I would put off anything that made me feel uncomfortable until I ran out of time, and then I would trudge the failure path.

Sound familiar?

Now I dance on the right track to being motivated EVERY DAY, achieving great results in my relationships, my business and my finances.

How did I do it?

Zig Ziglar wrote…

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last.
Well, neither does bathing — that’s why we recommend it daily.”

Read one of his books for daily motivation.

I thought that procrastination was something I had to put up with. I thought it was a bit like the bad cowlick in my fringe — it didn’t matter how much I tried, it always came back the next day.

Ziglar’s quote was my duh moment!

In the moment that I read his quote, I realised that PRODUCT was the key to both my hair problems and my productivity and success.

Just as I get up and style my hair with amazing products, I also get up each day and make sure I motivate myself.

Want to know how do I do that?

Here is my early morning list:

  • Meditate for 10 minutes on my daily success affirmations
  • Read one page of Think and Grow Rich
  • Don’t look too closely at myself in the mirror until I have read the body image affirmation that I have sticky-noted to it
  • Find inside me, a feeling of gratitude for the food that I eat (and the people that made it possible for the food to be there)

And that is just the list for the early morning.

Are you a procrastinator? Do you know that you have a great potential inside of you just waiting to burst through? Can you do this and be the success that you have dreamed of?

Of course you can!

Would you like to read another quote that impacted me as much as Zig Ziglar’s quote?

“[Successful people] formed the habit
of doing things that failures don’t like to do.”

Written and first given as a speech by Albert E. N. Gray in 1940, this quote is as relevant today as it was then.

Every time I feel that uncomfortable “I-don’t-want-to-do-this” feeling (the feeling that used to pre-empt my trudge to failure), I:

  • remember Gray’s quote
  • repeat one of my success affirmations
  • do whatever it is I have to do to be successful
